1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Shikan ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App is operated by Edo Projects Ltd (Company No. 16080946), a company registered in England and Wales. Registered address: 14/2e Docklands Business Center, 10-16 Tiller Road, London, England, E14 8PX.

2. Account

You may create an account using your email address or a supported sign-in provider. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

3. Free and Paid Features

Shikan offers a free tier with advertisements and a paid "Shikan Pro" upgrade. The free tier includes core meditation features with certain limitations. Shikan Pro unlocks additional features as described in the App at the time of purchase.

4. Purchases and Payments

Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. All payments are handled by the respective platform and subject to their terms.

Lifetime purchases: A "lifetime" purchase grants access for the lifetime of the App — meaning as long as the App is available and maintained. This does not guarantee perpetual availability.

Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their refund policies. Contact the respective store for refund requests.

5. Fair Use and Service Sustainability

Lifetime purchases are designed for personal, individual use. To ensure the long-term sustainability of the App and fair access for all users, we reserve the right to:

• Set reasonable usage limits on features such as cloud storage, sync frequency, data export volume, or server-dependent services
• Adjust, add, or remove specific features, tools, or integrations as the App evolves
• Introduce new features or content as separate offerings not covered by existing purchases
• Modify the scope of what is included in a purchase tier if required to maintain service quality or financial viability

We will always aim to preserve the core value of what you purchased. Any significant changes to paid features will be communicated in advance through the App. We will not remove access to content you have already purchased (e.g. program sessions you have unlocked).

Lifetime access does not entitle the holder to all future features, programs, or content released after the date of purchase, unless explicitly stated at the time of purchase.

6. Programs and Content

Guided meditation programs may be offered as separate in-app purchases. Free preview sessions may be available for each program. Purchased programs are tied to your account and can be accessed on any device where you are signed in.

7. User Conduct

When using the App, you agree to:

• Not use offensive, abusive, sexually explicit, or inappropriate display names, usernames, or profile images
• Not harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Not upload or share inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content
• Not impersonate other individuals
• Not attempt to exploit, manipulate, or abuse any feature of the App
• Not use the App for any unlawful purpose

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. If your account is terminated due to a violation of these conduct rules, you are not entitled to a refund for any purchases made. We may also remove or modify any user-generated content (display names, usernames, profile images) that we determine to be in violation of these terms.

8. Content Ownership

All meditation content, programs, audio tracks, and app design are owned by Edo Projects Ltd. Your personal meditation data (sessions, routines, settings) belongs to you and can be exported at any time.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Availability

We strive to keep the App available and functional but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice before discontinuing core functionality.

11. Limitation of Liability

Shikan is a meditation aid and does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the app settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases, but you may still export your personal data.

13. Copyright and Intellectual Property Claims

If you believe that content available through the App infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at info@shikanmeditation.com with the following information:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
• A description of where the allegedly infringing material is located within the App
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner

We will respond to valid notices and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the material in question.

14. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises from these Terms or your use of the App, we encourage you to contact us first at info@shikanmeditation.com so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally. If we are unable to resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue formal proceedings.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
